“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patient in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease” – Thomas Edison. This quote is something I’ve consistently seen come up in reference to chiropractic. The apparent context is Edison was concerned over the healthcare of his time a century ago. I find the connection strong to what we are trying to do in our practice, through educating our patients in ways to properly move and what foods and vitamins they should be ingesting to get the most out of their bodies to fulfil their lifestyle goals. This applies to the aches and pains and postural imbalances people have from their day to day lives where we aim to target what is actually causing these imbalances and how to fix them rather than masking the symptoms presented.
