Pregnancy & Chiropractic Care

Is Chiropractic care safe for pregnant women? Yes, it is safe and beneficial. All licensed chiropractors are qualified to treat pregnant patients. Additionally, all our doctors have undergone additional training in pre/postnatal care through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and are certified in the Webster Technique .

How can chiropractic care benefit my pregnancy & my baby?

Chiropractic care throughout pregnancy helps to establish balance in the mother’s pelvis. The mother’s spine and pelvis undergoes many changes and adaptations to compensate for the growing baby that puts stress on the spine. Specific chiropractic care throughout pregnancy works with enhancing nervous system function providing greater health potential for both the mother and baby.

Chiropractic care throughout pregnancy allows for healthier function of the mother and baby. Specific techniques tailored to pregnant mothers create balance in the mother’s pelvic bones allowing for improved comfort for the mother and ultimately more space for the baby. Seeking chiropractic care early in pregnancy is a safe and effective way to support the natural process of birthing.

What is the Webster technique? The Webster technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/ pelvic joint dysfunction. In doing so neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is improved. All our doctors have undergone extra training in pre/post natal care and are proficient in the Webster Technique.

When Should I come in? The sooner the better! Chiropractic care works to reduce stress on the nervous system and improves your body’s ability to function at its highest level; therefore, chiropractic care would ideally begin before you decide to become pregnant. Although that is ideal, getting chiropractic care anywhere along the way will still be very beneficial.
